Health Care

How could anyone prefer those rapacious insurance companies, who's CEO's
grab billions in salaries and bonuses, over a government run, low adminsitrative fee, health care plan? I can only assume that they know nothing about the Governement's plan since they only watch the right.-wingers biased "news" programs
and don't read articles that articulate the plans.
My only regret is that the benefits in the Government's plan don't start
sooner.

Health Insurance

It is too bad that some people, who profess to not understanding the new
Health care bill, haven't learned to read. Because if you can read you will see that
this new law benefits more than 90% of the nation. Among other things, it disallows the ability of insurance companies to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, it bans the ability of insurers from dropping coverage when someone is diagnosed with a condition that requires expensive treatment. The law also cuts the prices of Medicare prescription drugs by 50% when a patient is in the ubiquitous "donut hole" or gap in benefits. It allows parents to keep their children on their insurance until they become 26 years of age. The law also increases subsidies to purchase health insurance to low and moderate income people. Covers preventive services; in 2011, seniors in Medicare will receive free annual check-ups with no co-payments for mammograms, colonoscopies and other preventive screenings; Provides up to 35 % tax credits to small business that offer health care coverage; and creates a new and independent health insurance appeals process for consumers.
And the law provides a 10% increase in Federal Medicare payments to primary care doctors.
I'll admit that this law is not the panacea that we were expecting but it will be
changed gradually until we finally have health care for everyone, as all the rest of the civilized world has.

Well, we finally got this aenemic health care program started, children will have to wait 6 months before they will not be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions and they can stay on their parents policy until they turn 26 years old. After Sept. 2010, adults will not be kicked off their insurance plan if they should get sick. In nine years, the year 2019, 32 million people will have health insurance coverage. Whoopee!! That is if the conservative Republicans in Congress, don't get to shoot the whole program down. Believe me, they will if they ever get control of Congress again.

Could someone please tell me why the people on the Part D Medicare Drug program have to keep on paying their premiums, after they and the insurance companies have spent
$2,830, and then are in the insurance (donut hole) gap, when the insurance companies drop out of the enture program and pay no more benefits? But those wonderful CEO's will still be making their billion dollar salaries.
If this is fair, then I'm a freakin' fairy !

Why are these Republican conservatives screaming about the cost of this healthcare bill yet they didn't seem to mind when they authorized George W. Bush to spend billions and put us in this horrendous debt with an illegal war. Bush just spent the money and didn't even put the war's expenses in the budget !!

I am eagerly awaiting the Sunday Health Care vote. I absolutely despise these insurance company liars, telling us that we can't afford a health care bill.
We can't afford to NOT have a decent health care bill, and shame on these congressmen and women, who have their own health insurance and yet they deny everyone else from getting good insurance too. The hypocracy is unbelievable.
This bill will not be the one that will solve all our problems but it will be a start. When Medicare was first enacted it did not solve all the problems but it was a start and we now have decent insurance that we can live with.
This bill will stop insurers from excluding people for pre-existing conditions and prevent them from arbitrarily dropping policy holders. It will allow dependent children to remain on their parents health policies until age 26. Federal subsidies would be provided to help people with incomes up to 400% of the poverty level
($129,000, for a family of 5) to cover the mandatory insurance.
If this bill doesn't pass we will be in deep trouble, which might make us lose the Presidency, which would be a disaster at the Supreme Court. Think!!

health care reform

These are the pertinent facts about the HealthCare bill floating around Congress:
1. guaranteeing insurance access to people 55-64
2.prohibiting insurers from, denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions
3.expanding home & community based services
4.ending lifetime caps in benefits
5.providing tax credits to small businesses
Whats not to like about this? Granted, the bill could use more good points but it is a Start !
It can be revised and get more benefits put in it, but with the state of this Congress and all the naysayers, we are lucky to get this much.

Greedy Insurance company CEO's

I despise these insurance company liars telling us that we can't aford a health care bill.
Well, I say, we can't afford to not have a decent health care bill, and shame on these congressmen and women, who have their own health care, denying good healthcare for
everyone. They won't go to heaven on the money they take from the greedy insurance
companies. In fact, I hope they go the other way and soon.

snow

You cannot imagine the amount of snow we have had in the last four days. The paths that the dogs had made in the yard are all gone and the dogs can't get out to do their stuff. I guess I'll have to get a shovel and make them a new path. When I opened the back door this morning the wind was blowing the snow around so hard that I couldn't even see the fence.
Its a good thing I did some shopping five days ago. I can't get out of my driveway. Waiting for the guys to come clear it out for me.
When I took my garbage can out to the end of the driveway, in the driving snow, I looked back and saw that I had been dragging it in an arc instead of straight out !
Some "good samaritan" brought it back in for me and I don't even know who it was. I'm not going out there again to get my mail until they clear my driveway again.
Enough about snow for now.
Obama is showing some spirit now but its probably too late. He's really been wishy-washy about putting the terrorist on trial in New York. Once he made the decision, he shood have stuck with it. I think the people of NY want to see him go on trial right there where he caused the damage.
And isn't it a shame that in the eight years since the disaster there is still a huge hole where those two buildings were. If I were back in NY, I think I would have been screaming my head off at the Mayor and writing letters every day to get something built there.
